A Little Bit About Me
I always knew I wanted to work with children and began teaching from a young age. I started when I was sixteen by assisting my mom in running a holiday club for children. I’ve always loved how much fun and happiness they bring to others.
I have worked as a Kindergarten, Primary, Elementary, and Special Education Teacher, as well as a School Principal over the last three decades. I started teaching in Kuwait in the 1990s and have since taught in three different continents; Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
My first Kindergarten class included 25 children and only one of them spoke English. I had to focus on the basics of reading, writing, and speaking English and work from there.
I was fortunate to stay with that same class through to Grade One. After those two years, all of the children could read, write, and speak English confidently. I was able to learn further as I taught my own two children, who have two very different learning styles, how to read and write.
The variety of roles I have enjoyed as an educator has helped me hone my craft. Since starting my Education career I have had the opportunity to teach both children and teachers alike. Now, I want to provide parents and teachers with activities and strategies to help their children learn and grow through fun activities focused on learning through play!
So, let’s get started!
